On Tuesday 21st May, Bentleigh Secondary College celebrated Australia’s diversity with our Rainbow (IDAHOBIT) -Harmony Day. The day was about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for everyone no matter their sexual identity or preference or their culture.
Students and staff got involved by wearing rainbow coloured clothes or orange clothes and made gold coin donations raising over $700. Thanks to the SRC and Mr Dean for collecting donations. Our ‘Best Rainbow-Orange Dressed’ winners were Eden V., Thomas N. and Rory R. closely followed by Ava R., Elaini B. and Rania P. and commendations for Chrissy B., Alison V., Bailey E and Seb E.
The Rock Band performed live during lunchtime in the PAC – great music and lots of audience participation, particularly during their rendition of ‘Johnny Be Good’. Thanks to Mr Armit and Jessie P., Rania P., Joel N., Marcus T., Seb W., Tom E., Tommy T., Lucas P., Harrison D. and Mattise S-P. for the wonderful performance.
