On Wednesday 3 February 2021, the Bentleigh Secondary College House Swimming Carnival took place at the GESAC Pool. The Senior School students competed in the morning whilst the Middle School students raced in the afternoon. It was a beautiful summer’s day with the sun shining for most of it. Student participation was fantastic throughout the day in the wide range of events. These included the traditional events such as freestyle, breaststroke backstroke and butterfly, but also the novelty events, dress the princess, year 12 synchronised swim and body board relay. Staff and students alike also looked fantastic in their dress ups, with the staff and Year 12 students participating in an “Neon 80’s” theme and the Year 7-11 students in their house colours.
The Year 7-9 students spent the morning enthusiastically competing in house volleyball and soccer. They also were able to watch a TheatreSports show in the PAC which was loved by all.
The House Competition was competitive throughout the day. Congratulations to Dendy who won overall with a total of 617.5 points. In second was Wickham (505 points), third place was Fawkner (481 points) and in fourth was Hawker (349.5 points).
