Meet Mr Wedderburn

Mitch Wedderburn - Head of Middle School (Wellbeing, Engagement & Connectedness)

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Major in PE, Minor in Biology)

  • After completing university at RMIT in 2013, I decided to take a big step and booked a one-way flight to London with only a single suitcase – a place I would call home for just under 5 years.  During my time living abroad I was fortunate enough to work full-time in a number of different schools helping develop my teaching skills .

  • Living in London gave me chance to travel the world.  I was fortunate enough to visit over 70 countries during this time. Some of my all-time favourites were Iceland, Portugal and Sri Lanka.

  • My travels allowed me the privilege of learning and experiencing different cultures and traditions around the world and meeting so many incredible people, all who have helped shape the teacher I am today.

  • Outside of teaching, I am a sport enthusiast as I am sure many of you would have guessed.  You will be hard pressed to find a sport that I have not played, but my passion particularly lies in Basketball, AFL and Golf.

My teaching philosophy is to connect with the students and help guide them through their most important years of development throughout high school.  I endeavour to maximise the potential of students through fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments that allow students to thrive as young individuals and achieve their goals.
