Meet Mr Keane

Daniel Keane - Outdoor Education and Advance

• I completed my Bachelor of Health, Physical Education and Outdoor Education (Honours) at Monash University.
• I have lived on the Mornington Peninsula for my entire life, which has given me access to so many different adventures! I have played every sport under the sun as a child, tennis, basketball, cricket, footy you name it!
• I was a ball boy at the Australian Open in 2011.
• I first began studying Outdoor Environmental Studies in year 10. After beginning this study, I knew that this is the exact path I wanted to take in life.
• Through Outdoor Ed and my own family holidays, my love for travel and adventure has expanded. After finishing my University Degree, I moved overseas and lived in Canada for 6 months during the winter season. I worked at Big White Ski Resort for 6 months and was able to snowboard every day! Further to this I have travelled to New Zealand and Japan for Ski seasons.
• My current passion in the outdoors in Mountain Bike Riding which I am loving participating in with friends!
My teaching philosophy stems from my passion of the outdoors, I am able to develop students knowledge and understanding by learning through participating in hands on activities, and creating connections between what is studied in class and how this correlates to the outside world. I love being able to connect this to the study of Outdoor Education and help students find their passions in life. ‘
