While often unfolding quietly in the background, our Debating Program continues to thrive thanks to a dedicated group of students who consistently challenge themselves to engage with pressing real-world issues. Through spirited discussions and well-reasoned arguments, these students have demonstrated exceptional confidence, logic, and public speaking skills throughout the term.

This term has seen exciting finals across all levels of the competition:

• Junior Final: Dendy (Affirmative) vs. Fawkner (Negative)
  Topic: Should Australia remain as part of the Commonwealth?
  Result: Dendy emerged victorious in a closely contested debate.
  
  

• Intermediate Final: Wickham (Affirmative) vs. Fawkner (Negative)
  Topic: Should the under-16 social media ban persist?
  Result: Wickham secured the win with a compelling case.

• Senior Final (Upcoming): Fawkner (Affirmative) vs. Dendy (Negative)
  Topic: Should Australia invest in nuclear energy to combat the climate crisis?
