New Year 7 2023 class

We are so excited to welcome our new Year 7 students to Bentleigh this week !! 😀😀😀
To help familiarise student with the College grounds our Year 10 Peer Support Leaders put together a scavenger hunt sending students off with a map and some cryptic clues to keep them on their toes.

Year 12 Bomber Jacket

One of the most anticipated highlights for our Year 12 Students is receiving their Year 12 customised jacket. What better way to start their first week of their last year!

New Sign 2023

Look out for our new digital sign along Chesterville Road. A new way to keep in touch with our Bentleigh community. 🗣️

New Performing Arts Build with Nick Staikos

The building behind us in this photo will soon come down to make way for Bentleigh Secondary College’s new performing arts centre. The new centre will include a theatre fitted out with everything required to put on a stunning musical production, as well as classroom space.
 
 
With design complete, a builder is now about to be appointed. The PAC will open next year.
Can't wait!


Respect Group

Respect group meets every Tuesday at lunchtime.  Thegroup was proud to raise the Pride flag to represent the school’s ongoing commitment to making Bentleigh Secondary College a safe place for all members of the community.

Elevate Education

Our Year 11 students welcomed Elevate Education earlier this Term. They spoke about revision techniques and how students can best prepare for future exams. 
 
Identifying common areas where study can often be lacking and provided strategies students could implement to enhance their own personal study habits.
The advice was amazing, it was great to see students getting so involved and asking questions.

Year 7 Camp

The year 7 transition camp is to achieve the following outcomes:
  • Build relationships, connect and develop social networks - outside of social media
  • Provide students with the opportunity to get to know their Teachers and vice versa.
Year 7 Camp, is where it all begins.
The students had so much fun, meeting new people, other students and staff.
Thank you for having us OEG Camp Marysville and as always there was fun, laughter, new friendships and many, many memories made.


House Swimming Carnival 2023

Our first whole school event for 2023, House Swimming Carnival was held Wednesday and the sun came out and smiled for us ☀️
Thank you to everyone involved in organising and participating in this amazing event. The costumes were fabulous and the competition fierce …….


Year 12 Formal

What a night!! As always, the Year 12 formal was a highlight 🤩. A night to congratulate and celebrate our students as they embark on their final year at Bentleigh Secondary College.
 
Held at Merrimu Receptions the venue was a fabulous back drop for our Year 12 stars as they danced and sung the night away dressed in their best, and being the best they can be!!

Year 11 OES - Phillip Island Camp

This 3-day experience in the Phillip Island Region of South East Victoria covers Key Knowledge points from Unit 3 Area of Study 1 and 2. Topics covered practically include flora & fauna adaptation and Indigenous and European settler history of the area.  We also look at indicators and the importance of healthy outdoor environments and threatening processes including introduced species and climate change. These Key Knowledge and Key Skills from the OES Study Design will be taught through activities including Surfing, Desalination Plant tour, Penguin Parade, Hiking local indigenous activities.
