Bentleigh Secondary College is a year 7 – 12 medium sized college, located in the Melbourne Metropolitan area. The college is close to bus stops, shopping centres, swimming pools and other facilities. Dedicated and highly motivated staff provide strong support and leadership for all students. Senior students benefit from ongoing career guidance and positive feedback about their academic performance. We are supported by Glen Eira Language School in the immediate area.

Bentleigh Secondary College welcomes overseas students from all around the world. We currently have students from China, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. Our multilingual International Student Coordinator and Assistant oversee the enrolment, home stay accommodation, individualised support and pastoral care of our international students. International students are made aware of each other’s cultures and respect each other’s beliefs and religions. We also celebrate Chinese New Year, Mooncake Festival, Easter and Birthdays.

Bentleigh Secondary College also provides services such as a Nurse Health Education, Careers Advisor, Wellbeing Coordinator as well as access to various school support services to international students. All of these services can provide support for the pastoral needs of international students.

How to Apply

Bentleigh Secondary College caters for international student enrolments from year 7 to12. Applications must be made directly to the Department of Education and Training, International Education Division, More information can be found on:


Direct entry to year 10 and above, students need to demonstrate an adequate level of English language proficiency, IELTS 5.5 or other equivalent test results are accepted.

Selected students will be interviewed in English to gauge not only their language ability in English, but also their suitability to living and studying successfully away from home in a vastly different cultural environment than their own.

Local area inforation

Bentleigh East is located 14 kilometres form Melbourne CBD and is close to Chadstone and Southland shopping centres. This is a safe and family-friendly area with aplenty local parks. The suburb also has a fantastic vibe with abundance of restaurants, cafes, retail stores, supermarkets on Centre Road. Our college is located between East Boundary Road and Centre Road, where a few bus lines stop by, such as 822, 701, 703, and 767.
