Bentleigh Secondary College has a well-established Music program that continues to offer enormous opportunities for students. There are a range of ensembles students can be involved in on a weekly basis, including Concert Bands; String Ensembles; Jazz Combos; VCE Classroom Ensemble; Woodwind, Brass & Percussion Ensembles; Choirs; and Rock Bands. Rehearsals are conducted before school, after school or during lunchtimes.

Weekly lessons are on a rotated timetable, ensuring minimal impact on the students scheduled classroom timetable. Our committed instrumental music teachers will direct students on their chosen instrument. Instruments offered at the college include Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Strings, Bass Guitar and Voice.
We pride ourselves on keeping our students active throughout a given calendar year. The school participate in some of the most prestigious music festivals, including Mt Gambier Jazz Festival, the Victorian Schools Music Festival and a range of school concerts.
Learning an instrument is a rewarding experience that contributes positively to a child’s wellbeing, development and confidence. We aim to uphold a culture that celebrates all musical abilities and encourages students to participate and take part in all the musical opportunities we have to offer.
